Sweet Heart of a Berzerk

Sweet Heart OF A Berzerk is the main project of Christian Schmidt, who played as guitarist between '82 and '94 in various German Heavy Metal and Crossover bands.

Since '94 he concentrates on several music projects in his own music studio. As a 'musical lone fighter' he experimented with various music styles. But after he discovered his passion to the dark sounds end of the '90's Christian Schmidt finally started to record his first Sweet Heart of a Berzerk album.

The unique and recognizable music style of Sweet Heart of a Berzerk is somewhere between Gothic Rock, Melodic Death Metal and Industrial Metal mixed with a portion of 80s Heavy Metal. Overall, the hallmark of the songs are recognizable melodies and straightness, supported by unobtrusiv synthesizer sounds and the death metal growls of Christian Schmidt.

The first album Why? was released in 2005. The songs were mainly Gothic Rock with some first Melodic Death Metal influences and growls. The second album Wings of Eternity (2007) continued the symbiosis to a more Death-driven music, while the third album Reborn in Pain (2010) clearly became the hardest and fastest of the three releases with a slightly stronger Industrial Metal touch.
